Students of the Pre-Academic Program receive their certificate

WILLEMSTAD - Thursday, July 15, 2021, the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez (UoC) awarded certificates to the first group of students who have completed the Pre-Academic Program completely and successfully.

The UoC's Pre-Academic Program aims to equip prospective students for higher education in such a way that their chance of success in further studies is increased, both abroad and on Curaçao.

After completing this program, students will have sufficient language skills, 21st century skills, social knowledge and skills, and they will have an adequate study attitude.

The Pre-Academic Program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. It lasts 9 months and runs from the end of August 2021 to the end of May 2022. Among other things, the program focuses on:

• students who want to continue their studies in Curaçao or abroad, but do not feel quite ready for it;

• students who may want to follow a further study but do not yet know which one;

• students who have consciously opted for a “Gap Year” and want to get the best out of it;

• providing students with the necessary study skills and coaching in the transition from secondary school to student.

 

Students with a secondary school diploma at VWO, HAVO OR SBO-4 level can be admitted to the program. Participation in the program costs ANG. 500.
