WILLEMSTAD - Various subsidized institutions and organizations have received the one-off subsidy from the government. This has been announced by Minister of Finance Javier Silvania. A total of 75 institutions are eligible for a one-off increase of six percent.
Previously, civil servants were paid a bonus of 1,750 guilders. The benefit serves as compensation for the corona period in which the civil servants had to hand in 12.5 percent of their salary. The government would now like to phase out this discount, but encountered additional conditions by the Dutch government.
With the approval of the Council of Ministers, Silvania made 9.6 million guilders available for the one-off allowance for various organizations. In a press release, the minister now states that the amount has risen to twelve million guilders. The amounts of the allowances vary between 2,000 guilders and 2 million guilders.
The first organizations have already received the allowance, including Curaçao Public Transportation, Animal Rights Curaçao and Addiction Management Foundation. Institutions have until 30 November to register and to account for the subsidy amount to be spent. This can be done at the ministry that manages the granting of the subsidy.
