WILLEMSTAD - From May 9 – 12, 2022 Curaçao was the host of the Latin America Leadership Meeting of Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Chief Operating Officer Janet Burton, the Incoming Chief Operating Officer Rodney Jordan, the Field Operations Director of the Americas M.A. Laguatan, and other representatives of the RMHC Global office, together with the representatives of RMHC Latin America and the Caribbean, paid a visit to Curaçao to discuss the future plans of RMHC and at the same time to celebrate the farewell of Janet Burton after a 36 year work anniversary.
The team also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of RMHC Curaçao and was impressed by our program and the important support system we became for families with sick children on the island. The purpose of this meeting was to reconnect with all RMHC chapters in the region, discuss future goals, capitalize on opportunities, and of course learn from each other.
During this meeting, it was the perfect moment for our dedicated team of RMHC Curaçao to showcase our new program at the Curacao Medical Center, our future goals and our work to advance Family Centered Care. It is impossible not to mention that the visitors were so fascinated with Curaçao that they decided to stay a little bit longer on the island. We can proudly look back to a successful and meaningful meeting.
