Sunday flight TUI departs on Tuesday

WILLEMSTAD - TUI flight OR 376 did not leave Curaçao to Amsterdam on Sunday. The aircraft is still at Schiphol. Technical problems with software kept the Dreamliner on the ground. The 300 passengers of flight OR 375 in Amsterdam, who were to leave on Sunday, will not leave until tomorrow.

With a leased aircraft, provided by WAMOS.

The aircraft with problems is expected to be ready for flying again on Monday. The intention is that the regular Monday flight will simply be carried out again with this Dreamliner 787-8 TMF, so that the flight schedule is not unnecessarily disturbed.

TUI spokesperson Sebastiaan de Vries says that the 295 passengers who are stranded in Curaçao must wait until Tuesday for their return flight to Amsterdam. It is true that the leased aircraft that must pick them up arrives at Hato on Monday - with the passengers who would be arriving on Sunday, but the crew must rest and cannot leave until Tuesday 14 May.

De Vries says that most passengers are taken care of at the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort. They are informed via whatsapp. They will also receive a letter explaining how they will be compensated.

On long distances it is regulated by law that a standard compensation of 600 euros per passenger must be paid if there is no force majeure at the airline. Technical problems do not generally qualify as force majeure.
