WILLEMSTAD - Sergio Francillon remains detained after 10 months of pretrial detention until his case is heard by a judge in the court of first instance.
The 46-year-old Haitian is suspected of arson. According to police reports, Francillon caused the fire that damaged the Tax Office in August last year.
A request for release was rejected yesterday by the General Court. The other suspect, a 31-year-old Venezuelan is in jail on Bonaire. He fears for his life when he was detained with Francillon in Curaçao. The Venezuelan fully cooperates with the investigation. The substantive handling of the case is October 16.
