WILLEMSTAD - Doctors who have been suspended in the Netherlands can work in Curaçao and the other islands without any problems. This can be deduced from the answers given by Undersecretary Raymond Knops of Kingdom Relations to questions from the Kingdom Relations Committee.
According to the Undersecretary, there are no agreements about sharing disciplinary decisions. For example, Advent internist Dr. Bakir was able to get started despite a disciplinary sentence for sexual abuse of patients.
There is now also a complaint against him of the same nature in Curaçao.
