WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Supermarkets Association (SUVECU) warns of strong food price increases. Due to international developments such as scarcity of raw materials and a shortage of cargo ships, importers are confronted with price increases.
According to the association, the price of containers has tripled since last year. The increase is passed on to the customer, who then has to pay more for the same product.
