SVB must cut costs internally

Local | By Correspondent September 10, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The Social Insurance Bank (SVB) must make internal cutbacks, according to the Minister of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN), Dorothy Pietersz-Janga.

“As a new government, we had to keep to the agreements made about the Caribbean Reform and Development Agency (COHO), such as cost control of the Curacao Medical Center and the Social Insurance Bank. That is a difficult task. They are two big entities.

The pandemic is not over yet and that also means more costs. CMC is financed with funds from the SVB and the SVB is again supplemented with financing from the government in the event of shortages, "to indicate how complicated everything is, says the minister.
