WILLEMSTAD - A tanker ship has sunk 250 kilometers northwest of Curaçao. This is reported by the Coast Guard Dutch Caribbean. The Coast Guard patrol plane assisted in the emergency situation on the tanker Cetrus.
The tanker ran into problems for unknown reasons. Some of the ship's crew had jumped overboard. The Coast Guard has dropped two inflatable life rafts from the plane for the 14 drowning people and a dog. The Coast Guard, meanwhile, had sent two other tankers in the area a request for assistance. They then took the crew on board.
The crew and the dog sailed to Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago before returning home safely. The sunken tanker had two crew members who are still missing.
