WILLEMSTAD - The staff of the Tax Inspectorate that continued to work during the Christmas holidays will be reimbursed for their overtime. This was announced by Minister of Finance Javier Silvania on social media yesterday.
Silvania has instructed the head of the Tax Department and the head of the Inspectorate to submit the national decrees regulating the compensation to his cabinet. As soon as these are in, he will ensure that the money is transferred. Silvania does not state what amount is involved.
The minister asks the tax staff to understand the delay. In his message, the minister says he has not forgotten the employees and thanks them for the work they have done. Tax compliance has increased significantly in recent months. The efforts of the tax authorities are partly responsible for this.
