Tax office arsonists sentenced to prison

Local | By Correspondent February 10, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Three fugitive men were sentenced to six to eight years in prison for involvement in the fire at the tax office. The judge ruled on Wednesday in the Fogo case.

The three perpetrators Nelsy Francillon (Haiti, 44) and executors Javier Cabrita Rosas (Venezuela, 41) and Leovanny Chirino Mora (Venezuela, 39) were not present during their trial. Francillon and Chirino Mora have not yet been arrested. There is, however, a search warrant notice.

Rosas was arrested, but released after extradition detention in Venzuela. All three men have to pay compensation of 50,000 guilders to the Tax office.

Rudy Ramirez Medina was also involved in this case. He was previously sentenced to four years and is serving his sentence. According to the court, his statements about the three men are consistent and have partly ensured that they are now being sentenced.
