WILLEMSTAD - Taxi drivers and drivers of touring cars are not happy with the extra inspection for illegal taxi transport.
During the inspections, it appears that many legal taxi drivers do not have their papers in order either. But that's not their fault, the drivers say. The ministry does not issue their permit on time and they cannot pay taxes either.
The government is also responsible for issuing a certificate of good conduct. Sometimes such a document takes two years to get.
