Taxi drivers not allowed to protest anymore

Local | By Correspondent February 1, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Angry taxi drivers are no longer allowed to protest in front of tourists. That is one of the results of the consultation that Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje had yesterday with taxi companies and the port.

There will also be a working group where taxi drivers can address their concerns. Last week angry taxi drivers blocked the exit of the Mega Pier when cruise tourists were allowed on excursions only in tour buses. The captain wanted to create a bubble to prevent infections. Minister Cijntje said that such a bubble is no longer allowed.
