Tennis players Koolhof and Curaçao Rojer through to the third round of the US Open

NEW YORK - The tennis players Wesley Koolhof and the Curaçaoan Jean-Julien Rojer have reached the third round of the doubles tournament at the US Open. The pair defeated Americans Robert Galloway and Alex Lawson.

The US Open is the third grand slam tournament for Koolhof and Rojer as a duo. They also reached the third round at Roland Garros.

Koolhof and Rojer are placed tenth in New York. Koolhof reached the final last year with the Croatian Nikola Mektic, Rojer won the tournament in 2017 together with Horia Tecau.

 

For 40-year-old Rojer, it is his first tournament since his positive corona test during the Olympic Games. The duo had to withdraw and were quarantined in Tokyo for two weeks.
