WILLEMSTAD - There is more tension within the new coalition party PNP. During a press conference that was held yesterday, an exasperated Ramon Chong replied to press questions that his party colleagues and Gwendel Mercelina and Sheldry Osepa are "not real members of PNP".
Mercelina and Osepa have been party members for several months and recently also Members of Parliament. Both had been critical on social media in recent days about the commotion surrounding the candidacy of Ramon Chong and the aforementioned Eduard Braam.
According to Mercelina on Facebook, Braam has proven his greatness by withdrawing from his candidacy for the minister of justice in the new cabinet. Osepa wrote after Chong's press conference that it is time to think about the people of Curaçao.
The party board is currently in a meeting to decide what will happen with Ramon Chong who, according to sources, came out negative from the screening process which means that the governor will not be able to swear him in as minister of economic development.
