THE HAGUE - The Netherlands government, while continuing to emphasize that immigration policy is a matter for each country, will now provide a fund to strengthen the role of civil society in Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten (CAS Countries).
This is revealed in a letter to the Second Chamber in which State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen of Kingdom Relations responds to the adopted motion Simons (BIJ1). "The fund will primarily focus on small local initiatives within the countries themselves. It is expected that the project fund will start next year." Van Huffelen writes that the governments of the countries have been invited to participate.
