THE HAGUE - The massive exodus of Venezuelans threatens to disrupt the communities of the ABC Islands. Yet the Dutch government does not take the concerns from the islands seriously enough.
This is according to the Members of the Aruban parliament. They were recently in the Netherlands and the European Union to lobby for financial support for the reception of Venezuelan refugees.
They say that it is strange that the Netherlands donated Colombia 4 million euros for the reception of refugees. While the ABC Islands so far only has to do with technical assistance, despite several requests for assistance. The Aruban politicians call the Venezuelan crisis a "kingdom affair."
