WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch cabinet will structurally spend an amount of almost 39 million guilders on further support for border control by the Marechaussee, Customs and Coastguard.

Undersecretary Raymond Knops writes this to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament. The government is of the opinion that a functioning rule of law is conditional for economic development, contributes to sustainable public finances and monitors the regularity of expenditure.

That is why it makes structural resources available for the implementation of measures included in the country package, with which Curaçao agreed last Monday. This is aimed, among other things, at strengthening the rule of law of Curaçao.

Undermining

Furthermore, the Dutch cabinet is structurally making extra resources available for the expansion of the undermining approach in Curaçao, rising to 11 million guilders annually.

In addition, 2.5 million guilders have been structurally earmarked to professionalize the Curaçao militia of Defense and to invest in the Social Training Program, in which the Ministry of Defense offers young people the opportunity to rehabilitate with the cooperation of Curaçao.
