WILLEMSTAD - The number of corona infections in Curaçao has increased again in recent days. The island's government reported 17 new infections yesterday; the day before that it was 21 new cases. Less than ten infections were diagnosed daily at the end of February.
The counter now comes to 112 active cases. In addition, four patients with the virus have been admitted to hospital, one of them is in intensive care.
The last time there were more than a hundred infections was on January 23. A curfew was imposed on Curaçao months ago to prevent new infections. The curfew was relaxed a bit at the end of February. Then vaccination was also started.
Since the outbreak of the corona crisis last year, 22 people have died on the island.
