WILLEMSTAD - The Tax and Customs Administration processed 15,000 assessments in a month and refunded a total of 17.6 million guilders to the accounts of taxpayers. This is reported by the Ministry of Finance.
The tax department is still waiting to refund almost two million guilders but the taxpayer's details, such as the bank account, are missing.
The part that could be paid out consists of refund payments on income tax, disability insurance, general insurance for exceptional medical expenses, and basic healthcare insurance.
The repayments are set off against any outstanding debts from waste tax, property tax and remaining funds. Together they amounted to more than 15 million guilders.
In the same period, more than 12,000 assessments worth slightly more than 27 million guilders were imposed, for which the taxpayer had to pay extra.
