WILLEMSTAD - Employees who have lost their jobs recently can register with the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare. According to Minister Hensley Koeiman, it is important that people register so that a clear inventory can be made of who are available for which professions.
The ministry can then mediate in finding a job. In certain cases, a refresh course may also be given. People who already have a job but want a new challenge are also welcome.
The idea of a registry comes from the Horecaf hospitality trade union. The union has started since many people in the hospitality industry have lost their jobs and the association wanted to assist them. An unemployment registry appears to be a good help.
Koeiman is not afraid that people will be given false hope by registering.
