WILLEMSTAD - With 79,801 first injections reported, the expectation is high that the 80,000th injection will be taken today. Yet another milestone, despite the fact that there has been no long lines at the vaccination centers in recent weeks.
The number of new registrations is only slowly increasing, around 300 per day. About 2,300 people who have already registered are still waiting for a vaccination. A total of 82,243 have registered since yesterday, of which nearly 80,000 have received their first injection. More than half of them (44,402) have also had a second vaccination.
All sails must continue to be set again. Since last week, the mobile vaccination teams have returned to the neighborhood. In the hope that the targeted information campaigns in the neighborhoods will have an impact on the number of new injections.
The larger injection sites are no longer all needed. The center in Sambil is now closed. All people who had an appointment for an injection in Sambil have received an email that they can now go to the WTC.
