WILLEMSTAD - Tokos and minimarkets hardly meet their tax obligations, says the tax authorities based on recently published data. Most warnings are given within this group, while they do not subsequently adjust their behavior accordingly.
Of the 667 taxpayers within the TOMISU (Toko, Minimarket, Supermarket) industry, 505 companies had one or more missing returns or payments. This is more than 75 percent of companies within the sector. Everything was in order at only five percent of the companies.
The tax authorities are therefore increasing the number of on-site inspections.
