Tough approach for defaulters Aqualectra

Local | By Correspondent December 24, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra will take stricter action against customers who do not pay their bills. The utility company calls on defaulters for one last time to report and make a payment arrangement.

The number of outstanding bills is rising sharply and operational costs are at risk, the energy company writes in a statement. Aqualectra stopped disconnecting customers from the grid during the first lockdown.

After that, the financial situation of people and companies that did not pay their bills was also taken into account. For example, it is possible to submit a request for a payment arrangement by filling in a form on the website.

Aqualectra will take strict measures against customers who nevertheless refuse to do anything about payment arrears. In the worst case this means not only the start of a collection procedure, but also the electricity will be disconnected.
