WILLEMSTAD - Tour operators who drive cruise tourists around the island are not allowed to make price agreements about this. This is reported by the competition watchdog Fair Trade Authority Curaçao (FTAC).
The FTAC investigated this and came across agreements that the port authority CPA has made with tour operators at the Megapier. It stipulates that tours may not be offered under $ 20.
Such agreements are prohibited by law and FTAC now gives a binding instruction to the parties. They can still appeal against the decision.
