WILLEMSTAD - A 75-year-old tourist died on Klein Curaçao on Saturday morning. The Rescue & Coordination Center (RCC) of the Coast Guard received a report that a man was in the sea and had been removed from the water.
Bystanders on Klein Curaçao tried to resuscitate the man, who had suffered a heart attack while swimming. Because a doctor happened to be present, CITRO Medico did not have to send personnel to the island. After twenty minutes of CPR, the doctor who was on site determined that the man had died.
A Coast Guard helicopter was deployed to carry out the evacuation. The Metal Shark has transferred the family of the deceased to the fishing port on Caracas Bay.
