WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Police Force, in collaboration with the Public Prosecution Service, held a traffic and alcohol check on Thursday 30 May 2019, Ascension Day in the evening hours right in front of the police station in Rio Canario.

During this check, 122 cars were stopped, and 42 official fines were issued for various offenses.

These were fines drawn handed driving under the influence of alcohol, which is a crime, giving a false name, lacking license plates, having dark tinted windows, not paying the road tax and driving without a valid insurance certificate.

These checks will take place regularly. Be wise, don't drive under the influence of alcohol.
