Travel conditions for BES islands relaxed

Local | By Correspondent February 24, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from Saba and St. Eustatius who travel to Bonaire no longer need to be tested.

From Friday, these travelers only need to fill in a health declaration. Until Thursday, fully vaccinated travelers from these islands to Bonaire must still do a PCR test within 48 hours before departure or an antigen test within 24 hours before departure. Travelers from Saba and St. Eustatius who have not been fully vaccinated must still take a PCR test within 48 hours before departure until Thursday.

The travel relaxation for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten could come into effect earlier, but the BES islands had to wait a little longer. This is because these islands are special municipalities of the Netherlands. Because the rules differ from those of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten, it takes more time to change the travel conditions.
