Treatment of Advent Hospital by government unjustified, judge says

Local | By Correspondent October 21, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The government has treated Advent Hospital unjustly. That was ruled by the judge in a lawsuit that the hospital had filed against the government. Advent started the case because the rates reimbursed to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) are higher than what is reimbursed to Advent.

Advent has received the same reimbursement since 2001, so for more than 20 years, while increases have been applied for the Sint Elisabeth Hospital then and now for the CMC. However, with regard to the claim against the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), the judge did not agree with Advent. The SVB may be the manager of the funds, but the allocation is a political matter, according to the court.
