Treaty is no consent to intervention by America via Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent March 7, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The new treaty for the visit and stay of US military personnel on Curaçao is not intended to facilitate a possible intervention of America in Venezuela.

This is what Minister Stef Blok of Foreign Affairs writes to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament after questions were asked about the treaty.

The so-called SOFA, as the treaty is called, only determines how to deal with privileges and immunities, liability and carrying weapons on Curaçao's territory.
