WILLEMSTAD, RIJSWIJK - Worldwide tourism has been hit hard by the corona virus. This certainly applies to holiday destinations that are largely dependent on tourism. Reason for TUI Care Foundation, the independent foundation of TUI, to launch "100 Helping Hands".
An initiative to give support to local NGOs and small social enterprises in holiday destinations focused on sustainable tourism.
These organizations can apply for an emergency donation online to help vulnerable people in holiday destinations. Think of providing food and emergency packages, facilitating childcare and home education for vulnerable children, or creating more awareness among the local population about the importance of good hygiene.
100 initiatives supported
In total, TUI Care Foundation will be able to support a maximum of 100 initiatives. There is a one-time donation between € 2,000 and € 10,000 per initiative available. 23 countries have been selected to apply for a donation, including Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire. The condition is that the initiative must take place in the tourist regions of the country and that the organization requesting the donation is registered locally. Private initiatives are not eligible.
Organizations that meet these conditions can register up to and including Friday 19 June via this link. TUI Care Foundation will select 100 initiatives from all submissions.
