SCHIPHOL, WILLEMSTAD - Travel organization TUI acknowledges that a mistake was made by having a man infected with corona fly to Curaçao.
The man had previously taken a so-called 'gargle test' and tested negative. But because Curaçao no longer wanted to recognize that test, he was tested again on Thursday before departure. During the flight, he was told that he was infected with the coronavirus.
"That man should not have boarded, that is very clear," TUI director Arjan Kers told NPO Radio 1 program Reporter Radio. "We always talk about safe and responsible, in this case, it just did not go well."
