WILLEMSTAD - Passengers of airline TUI remained at Hato airport on Sunday evening. The plane from Amsterdam had a breakdown in the Dominican Republic. The flight now departs on Tuesday morning at 09:00, TUI indicated.
According to TUI regional manager Rick van der Pluijm, there was a technical defect that left the plane in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. "We immediately flew in a replacement part and a technician from the UK. The defect has been resolved and the aircraft is now in Curaçao."
The flight now departs for Amsterdam on Tuesday morning at 09:00. The airline actually wanted to leave on Monday evening. Van der Pluijm: "Due to difficulties with the test flight, the departure has been postponed again to Tuesday morning."
TUI passengers were accommodated in hotels.
