WILLEMSTAD - After 10 weeks of closure, two of the three TUI travel agencies in Curaçao and Aruba will reopen from Wednesday 20 May. Naturally, the applicable safety and hygiene measures are observed so that work can be carried out in a safe manner.
Sebastiaan de Vries, Head of TUI Dutch Caribbean: “From the moment we physically closed the stores, our services continued through email and telephone. But we have noticed that customers need personal contact and face-to-face conversations, even though travel to and from the islands is not yet possible. That is why we decided to open two of the three stores again.”
Digital innovations
During the weeks that the stores were physically closed, we worked hard to accelerate the implementation of several digital innovations. For example, a digital appointment system has been developed with which the customer can schedule an appointment. This appointment can then be made via video calling or with a visit to the travel agency. When the stores are reopened, the aim is to minimize cash payments. Customers can pay by debit card or bank transfer. Still under development and a great innovation is the launch of the My TUI environment on the TUI booking site. In this personal environment, the customer will soon find all the details of his booking, such as the travel group and tickets. This environment is now being developed and is expected to come live in July.
Materials and measures
In addition to digital developments, the stores are equipped with all the materials needed to safely receive customers. Such as plexiglass screens, hand gel and seat covers that are easy to clean. In addition, appointments with customers are well planned so that visits do not overlap and there is time for cleaning between appointments.
Opening hours
The opening hours of the shops are from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 in Aruba and from 08:00 to 16:00 in Curacao.
