WILLEMSTAD - Twelve schools are planned to undergo major maintenance next summer. This was announced by the Minister of Education Sithree van Heydoorn. The government has received 30 million euros from the Netherlands for school maintenance. The concrete details of the maintenance, including the implementing contractors, will be announced on 15 July. After that, the work can start immediately.
The aim is to tackle the schools with the biggest problems first. In the second round, it will be the turn of the other more than thirty schools. The thirty million euros, about 56 million guilders, is intended for maintenance in the next three to four years.
