WILLEMSTAD — Tyron Boekhoudt was officially sworn in on Wednesday as Minister of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN). The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Palace of the Governor and was conducted by Governor Mauritsz de Kort, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas announced.

Boekhoudt fills the vacancy at the Ministry of GMN that arose following the departure of Javier Silvania. In June 2025, Boekhoudt entered the Curaçao Parliament as a Member of Parliament, but stepped down from his seat in October of the same year. That move coincided with Silvania’s resignation as minister and his return to Parliament, prompting Boekhoudt to relinquish his parliamentary position.
Prior to his brief tenure as an MP, Boekhoudt worked as a staff member for Silvania. With his appointment as minister, he now returns to public office in an executive role.
The government has not provided further details regarding Boekhoudt’s policy priorities or the specific allocation of responsibilities within the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature.
