WILLEMSTAD - According to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, members of the Second Chamber of Parliament in the Netherlands are apparently not aware of the refugee situation in Curaçao, nor of the procedures that apply in Curaçao.
Rhuggenaath responds to a motion that was adopted in the Netherlands about this, but contains many inaccuracies. According to Rhuggenaath, parliamentarians from the United States are familiar in detail with the situation in Curaçao and the challenges facing the country.
According to him, this became clear during the working visit to Washington DC at the beginning of this week, where he spoke among other things to some Congressmen.
Recently, seven members of the American House of Representatives also visited Curaçao to study the effects of the Venezuelan crisis on the island.
