Until November 1, the time to properly arrange ministers' salaries

Local | By Correspondent September 11, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao government has until November 1 to legally regulate the cuts in the salaries of ministers and members of Parliament.

This has become clear in the run-up to the Kingdom Council of Ministers in The Hague today. Although the decision to amend the employment conditions was taken by the Rhuggenaath government, the Constitution requires that this be done by law.

According to the government in Fort Amsterdam, a draft national ordinance is in the works, which must be sent to the Advisory Council as soon as possible and then to parliament to be debated and adopted as law.
