WILLEMSTAD, THE HAGUE - Last week a new statue of Tirzo Martha was unveiled in the city center of The Hague. It is the most recent acquisition for The Sculpture Gallery, the annually changing outdoor collection of 40 sculptures in the Hofstad.
The image of the Curaçao artist is called: "The dematerialization of the five commandments in the five senses." This year, Tirzo Martha was unanimously chosen as the winner of the 11th Wilhelminaring - the oeuvre prize for Dutch sculpture.
