WILLEMSTAD - In the period from July 20 to November 15, there were 224 patients with Covid-19 in the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). Of those, 207 had not been vaccinated against the virus.
Only six hospitalized patients were fully vaccinated. Five patients had only had the first injection. One person became infected within two weeks of the second vaccination. Four people were fully vaccinated but are not fully protected against the virus due to problems with their immune system.
One patient who was hospitalized has had the Janssen vaccine. This patient was flown in from Bonaire.
The number of patients in the CMC has decreased considerably in recent weeks. The number of hospital admissions currently stands at eight. Three of them are in intensive care.
