Local | By Correspondent December 29, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Five organizations are willing to invest in the greening of the refinery site and the asphalt lake.

Sven Rusticus, founder of GreenTown Curaçao, reports this in a letter to parliament. Rusticus gives as an example the innovative developments in the maritime sector, sports, culture and real estate.

The organizations interested in these projects are Sweco, Collin Recycling, Edgewater Resources, RoyalHaskoningDHV and the European Investment Bank.

GreenTown hopes that there will be room for realization of this when the refining activities are discontinued.

Update: Royal HaskoningDHV indicated to Curaçao Chronicle that when they were approached by Mr. Rusticus in November 2020, they informed him that they would not be participating in the partnership he proposed. Royal HaskoningDHV did not specify they reason why they rejected the proposal.
