Local | By Correspondent March 19, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Up until 12 in the afternoon, 30,284 people have cast their vote. This means that 26% have already voted in this year’s election.

Compared to the 2017 election, at the same hour, 25,746 people had cast their vote. This is 21%. More people have voted this year in the morning hours. The Supreme Electoral Council (SEC) estimates that around 80,000 people will vote today.

The SEC indicates in their briefing that there were some problems with the number of police officers for each polling station but that was resolved quickly.

The SEC requests everyone to continue adhering to the COVID-19 measures such as social distancing and no agglomeration.
