WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of General Affairs announced last week that a visa requirement for Venezuelans will be introduced in March 2020.
One reason given is that the situation in Venezuela has deteriorated further in the recent period.
And that neighboring countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and Chile have already introduced a visa requirement. It is expected that a possible reopening of the border with Venezuela will be accompanied by an influx of Venezuelans to the islands.
The 6-month period is needed to prepare for the introduction.
