UTS / FLOW asks questions about project digitization

Local | By Correspondent March 11, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The company UTS / Flow does not understand why the government signed an agreement last week with the company Digicel on the provision of high-speed internet to all 118 schools in Curaçao.

The government must pay for this, but according to UTS / Flow they must provide free internet to schools according to a contract from 2019. They do that according to their own words. According to a member of the board of UTS / Flow, the company has been providing free internet to school institutions since 2011. According to Education Minister Steven Croes, some 70 schools indeed have a contract with UTS, but he chose Digicel because they "can provide very fast internet at a better price".
