WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Education, Culture, Welfare and Sport (OWCS) Sithree van Heydoorn is currently in El Salvador for a work trip that focuses on the digitization process of education.
Van Heydoorn has been invited for the three-day trip by the local government and the company Production Business Solutions. In this way, the minister hopes to gain more knowledge about digitization. According to Van Heydoorn, El Salvador has come a long way with regard to the digitization process and its introduction is 'smooth', the process is an eye-opener for the politician.
Former OWCS minister and current Member of Parliament for the opposition party PAR, Steven Croes is critical of the trip, he says via social media. According to Croes, the digitization plan was already presented in January. Part of the 63 million guilders needed to implement the plan is now wasted on an unnecessary trip, according to the PAR MP.
