WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Business Association (VBC) is angry with the government. In times of crisis, the government introduces an increase in the tax burden on businesses, says the VBC.
The tax burden will increase because companies are no longer allowed to deduct the sales tax they pay on import of products. What the business community receives from the government because of the corona support, is directly collected by the tax authorities in this way, according to the VBC.
In March, the VCB made an alternative proposal for sales tax, but there was no response.
