Vehicle Inspection Service has a backlog of 6,000 cars

Local | By Correspondent June 20, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The vehicle inspection service of the Ministry of Traffic and Transport has inspected 7,725 cars in the past four weeks. June 12, the inspection hall reopened after the lockdown due to the corona crisis.

Due to that temporary closure, there is still a backlog of almost 6000 cars with an expired inspection card. Drivers normally pay a penalty of 30 guilders if they are late.

They do not have to do that now, but  they have to make an inspection appointment before 1 August. Otherwise they will still pay the penalty and they can also be fined by the police.
