Venezuela borders remain closed after new visa regime

Local | By Correspondent January 5, 2021

ORANJESTAD - The border with Venezuela will not open on January 16. This was announced by Aruban Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes. On that day, the new visa regime for Venezuelans who want to travel to one of the countries in the Kingdom will start.

But the closure of the borders with the Kingdom’s southern neighbor has to do with COVID-19 and the policy of President Nicolas Maduro, says the Aruban prime minister, and not with the new obligations to apply for a visa.
