WILLEMSTAD - The Venezuelan who was on trial for the murder of Dennick Corsica was acquitted yesterday.
Pedro Aceituno acted out of self-defense in October last year, according to the court. Corsica was a well-known drug addict in Punda who asked passers-by for money.
Camera images show that the suspect was chased by the drug addict with a knife in his hand. In the fight that ensued, both were injured. Corsica ultimately lethal.
The only problem now is that the Venezuelan remains illegal on the island. After the acquittal he was send to the foreigners’ barracks at the SDKK prison to await his deportation.
