WILLEMSTAD - A Venezuelan national has recently been arrested in the Venus case. The man is still behind bars awaiting his first appearance in court.
Last year a businessman and his wife were arrested in this case, along with a police officer. The individuals are suspected of human trafficking and human smuggling and forcing a group of women into prostitution.
In addition, the women were treated badly, with working hours from 10 p.m. to 11 a.m. without a break, they were locked up during the day and were not allowed to contact family or friends. The case still must be treated in court.
